Monroe Central High School
The Cowan high school boys cross country team finished 11th out of 20 teams at the Monroe Central Invitational on Saturday. Leading the way for the Blackhawks was Max Nettrouer in 46th place in a personal best time of 18:58. Dylan Ayers (71st), Colin Kear (74th), Will Wright (95th), Daniel Wright (96th), Zach Hughes (114th), and Carter King-Cross (146th) rounded out the top seven places for Cowan.
The Cowan high school girls cross country team finished 12th out of 17 teams at the Monroe Central Invitational on Saturday. Freshman Kaily Smith led the pack for the Lady Blackhawks with a 49th place finish in a time of 24:16. Liz Clevenger placed 70th for the team in her first race in two years after being out all last season with an injury. Hailey Bonshire-Thomas (107th), Bailey Hansard (151st), and Abby Dotson (167th) rounded out the top five places for Cowan.
The Blackhawks next meet is at the Pendleton Heights Arabian Roundup this Wednesday at 6 p.m.
