The Cowan high school cross country teams had 10 out of 14 runners set season best times on Saturday at the Yorktown Invitational.

The boys team placed 8th out of 14 teams. The Blackhawks had a different number one runner for the fourth straight meet. It was Colin Kear leading the way on Saturday with a strong 39th place finish in a season best time of 18:54. It was Kear’s first time ever being the Blackhawks number 1 runner.

The Cowan high school girls cross country team was led by freshman Kaily Smith on Saturday with an impressive 34th place finish in a personal best time of 23:51. Junior Abby Dotson also had a season best time by over 2 minutes to place 55th in a time of 25:23.

The Blackhawks will have their senior night tomorrow evening at home when they take on Monroe Central and Wes-Del at 4:30. Come out and support Dylan Ayers, Bailey Hansard, and Will Wright as they run their last high school home meet.
