The girls cross country team ran around Morrow's Meadow Saturday morning in Yorktown's Jim Leffler Invitational. Warm and humid conditions were challenging for racing. Freshman Abby Campbell was the teams' top finisher, making her way around the course in 24:02. Sophomore Addison Clark was next in at 26:27. Junior Candice Matson was the third Cowan runner to finish as she crossed the line in 27:47. Freshman Eva Byers was fourth for the team, Kylee Bergstrom fifth, and Aubrey Davis was the sixth Cowan runner to finish. These six girls took home fifth place ribbons for their combined efforts. The team is scheduled to race again on Saturday, September 28, at the New Haven Classic Invitational which will be run on the campus of Huntington University.
