The boys cross country team competed in Yorktown's Jim Leffler Invitational on Saturday morning. Warm and humid conditions made running great times a challenge, but the team put forth a strong effort. Junior Isaac Campbell earned some hardware at the meet by placing 20th individually. Campbell clocked in at 18:28 for the 5 kilometer course. The rest of Cowan's top five at Yorktown were 3 juniors and 1 freshman. Juniors Aidan Glenn, Rudy Glaze, and Barron Smith filled spots 2-4 and freshman Tyler Garza lowered his PR for a 5k race by more than 30 seconds to come in as the team's fifth runner. The team is scheduled to race again on Saturday, September 28, at the New Haven Classic Invitational which will be run on the campus of Huntington University.
