The boys varsity cross country team competed in the New Haven Invitational on Saturday morning. The meet took place at Huntington University's Cross Country course with 28 schools sending runners to the starting line in the small schools race. Junior Isaac Campbell continued his strong junior campaign with a 6th place individual finish. Campbell ran 17:42.2 to bring home a medal. Cowan's next three runners were also juniors and all three finished within 50 seconds of each other. Aidan Glenn had a 20:09, Rudy Glaze had a 20:19, and Barron Smith had a 20:59. Sophomore Chase Matson ran his season-best time of 21:38 to round out Cowan's top 5. The team scored 331 points which earned them 14th place in the team race. The boys are scheduled to race again next Saturday in the Winchester Invitational.
