The girls high school cross country team competed in the Winchester Invitational on Saturday, October 5. The team earned 6th place out of 11 schools that had girls participating. Sophomore Addison Clark ran the course nearly three minutes faster than she ran in this meet last year. Clark lowered her PR to 24:35.6 and was the first Blackhawk to cross the finish line, finishing in 19th place. Freshman Abby Campbell was only 6 seconds behind Clark in 21st place with a time of 24:41. Junior Candice Matson dealt with a bloody nose during the race, but toughed it out and finished in 27th place in 25:41. Freshman Eva Byers was 37th in 28:52 and Senior Kylee Bergstrom 43rd in 31:18. The Lady Blackhawks will be competing next in the MEC Championship meet on Saturday, October 12, at Blue River Valley.
