The Mid Eastern Conference held its annual cross country championship race at Blue River Valley on Saturday, October 12. Some nice changes to the course gave the meet a competitive atmosphere, and Cowan was up for the challenge. Four of Cowan's top nine runners had PRs and three others were within 10 seconds of theirs. The efforts of the team allowed them to finish in the top half of the conference standings in fifth place. Two juniors earned their first All-Conference medals. Isaac Campbell raced his way to a fifth place finish in 17:32 and Aidan Glenn closed his race out with a sprint and a lean to earn ninth place in 18:05. Sophomore Chase Matson ran his season best time of 19:55 to come in next for the team in 29th place. Juniors Rudy Glaze and Barron Smith both ran 20:25 to complete the team's scoring places. Each of the top five runners improved by 10 or more places from the MEC meet last season. Next up for the team is their sectional meet hosted by Marion at Indiana Wesleyan University this Saturday, October 19.
