The Mid Eastern Conference held its annual cross country championship race at Blue River Valley on Saturday, October 12. The team used two PRs and a season best to claim fifth place. Freshman Abby Campbell was first in for Cowan, crossing the line in 23:38 to finish 18th in her first MEC meet. Junior Candice Matson took 21st place with a new PR of 24:07. Matson improved 8 places from last year's meet. Sophomore Addison Clark finished 23rd with a new PR of 24:20. This was an improvement from 11 places last year. Senior Kylee Bergstrom ran her season-best time to finish 36th, and freshman Eva Byers was close behind her in 39th. Next up for the team is their sectional meet hosted by Marion at Indiana Wesleyan University this Saturday, October 19.
