Campbell and Glenn Advance to Regionals

The boys cross country team competed in their sectional meet hosted by Marion High School on the Indiana Wesleyan University cross country course Saturday morning. Two Cowan boys earned the right to race next week in the regional meet. Juniors Isaac Campbell and Aidan Glenn will both be representing their school on Saturday, October 26, at the New Haven Regional. Campbell had an outstanding race and ended up as the 9th place individual with a time of 17:31. Glenn also ran a strong race, finishing in 18:22 to book his spot in next week's meet. Sophomore Chase Matson ran his best time of the season to finish in 19:51 as Cowan's third runner. Freshman Tyler Garza cut almost 50 seconds off of his PR, finishing in 20:08. Juniors Rudy Glaze and Barron Smith finished within a second of each other at 20:16 and 20:17. Smith's time was a PR. Senior Xander Sparks ran his last race in a Cowan uniform, finishing in 22:19. The team finished in 9th place of the 15 schools in their sectional. The New Haven Regional Meet will be held at Huntington University on October 26 with the girls race starting at 10:30 and the boys race starting at 11:15.
