Blackhawks overwhelm Argylls in fourth quarter

Using a suffocating defense and an explosive offense, Cowan outscored visiting Madison-Grant 15-1 in the fourth quarter to win, 35-18, Saturday. Savannah Hall played an outstanding all-around game, with 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocked shots. Elizabeth Sizemore added nine points on three 3-point field goals, Regan Gill had five rebounds and Alyssa Stevens contributed three assists and three steals. The Cowan junior varsity led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter but couldn't hold on in a 28-23 loss. Cora Wright led Cowan with eight points and Lexi Gluff grabbed nine rebounds. The Blackhawks return to action Tuesday at Randolph Southern.
