Blackhawks lose nail-biter in overtime at Blue River

Cowan fought back from a seven-point first-quarter deficit to lead by a basket heading into the fourth quarter Friday night at Blue River, but saw a potential victory slip away in overtime. The Vikings won 34-31 after regulation ended in a 27-27 tie. Savannah Hall led the Blackhawks with 12 rebounds, five blocked shots, four steals and three assists while scoring six points. Madison Norris topped Cowan's scoring with 10 points, while Elizabeth Sizemore contributed eight, Delanee Gillespie five and Kylee Bergstrom two. The Blackhawks will return to action at home against Wapahani on Thursday. The junior varsity game will start at 6 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
