Cowan Jr./Sr. High School

Cowan played a regular season game Friday at Daleville, then turned around and played the Broncos on Tuesday night in the Delaware County Tournament at Yorktown. Despite a strong second quarter in the first game and a strong start in the second, the Blackhawks lost 58-21 and 55-25 to a talented Daleville team. In the first game, Elizabeth Sizemore hit three 3-pointers and five other Blackhawks -- Alyssa Stevens, Delanee Gillespie, Kylee Bergstrom, Savannah Hall and Madison Norris -- scored. In the second game, Hall led Cowan with 11 points Her aggressive play led to shooting nine free throws, converting five. Stevens, Gillespie, Sizemore and Norris also contributed points. Cowan's next game will be Tuesday at Shenandoah. The junior varsity game will start at 6 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
