Girls varsity basketball outscores Knightstown in second half

The Blackhawks trailed 35-11 at halftime before coming out in the second half with a more aggressive mindset and outscoring the visiting Knightstown Panthers 20-19 in a 54-31 loss. Vannah Hall played another outstanding all-around game for Cowan, leading the team with 10 rebounds, four assists and six blocks and adding four points. Madison Norris led Cowan in scoring with 10 points, including 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. Regan Gill added four points and six rebounds, Elizabeth Sizemore hit two 3-point shots and Delanee Gillespie scored five points. The Blackhawks return to action with their senior game at home against Wes-Del on Wednesday. The junior varsity will face Blackford at 6 p.m. with the Cowan/Wes-Del varsity game to follow.
