Elizabeth Sizemore drilled nine 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 points Wednesday as Cowan trounced visiting Wes-Del 79-45 on Senior Night. Along with Sizemore, seniors Madison Norris, Regan Gill, Kylee Bergstrom and Lily Nettrouer started for the Blackhawks and got them off to an early lead. Delanee Gillespie and Vannah Hall scored 12 points apiece to join Sizemore in double-figures. Alyssa Stevens played an outstanding floor game, with six points, 10 assists, seven steals and just two turnovers, and Hall led the Blackhawks with 11 rebounds and three blocks. All 10 players on the varsity roster scored for Cowan. In the junior varsity game Wednesday, Cowan fell behind early but played a strong second half in a 38-17 loss. Abby Campbell led Cowan with eight points. Cowan finishes the regular season Thursday night with a varsity game at Burris. The Blackhawks will face Wes-Del again in the first round of the sectional Tuesday at Tri-Central.
