The varsity volleyball team defeated Monroe Central Thursday evening in 5 sets (25-23, 23-25. 25-19, 19-25, 15-11). Demi Abbott had a season high 9 aces. Abbott also had 1 kill, 5 digs, and 28 assists for the Blackhawks. Savannah Hall led the team with 16 kills, 18 digs, 1 ace, and 4 blocks. Taylor Young had 9 digs and both Eowyn Glaze and Ayden Morgan contributed 8 digs each. Gabby Webb had 7 kills, 3 blocks and 2 digs. The junior varsity volleyball team also beat the Bears in 3 sets (17-25, 25-12, 15-9). Lily Burton had 7 aces for the Blackhawks and Ayden Morgan led the defense with 23 digs. Sydney Quinn added 7 digs and Reagan Ashtyn added 6 digs. The Blackhawks will be on the road next week where they will face off against the Wes-Del Warriors on Wednesday, September 10th. The junior varsity match will begin at 6:00pm.
