The Blackhawk boys varsity cross country team took fourth place at the MEC championship meet hosted by Blue River Valley on October 5th.
Senior Ezra Daniel Wright turned in his lifetime best of 17:20.8 and claimed the individual conference championship. Wright was unable to compete at the MEC meet last year due to injury, so his return this year to capture the individual title is an outstanding accomplishment.
Sophomore Nathaniel Kirby cranked out his personal best time of 18:37.9 to finish in 15th place, an improvement of seven places for him from last year.
Fellow sophomore Perrin Belcher was next in for the team with a time of 19:31.9. This time earned him 22nd place, which was a fifteen place improvement from 2018.
Freshman Logan Walker smashed through the 20 minute barrier for the first time and finished in 24th place with a 19:40.8.
Junior Christopher Miller ran his personal best of 20:31.0 to come in as Cowan’s fifth man.
