The Blackhawk varsity track teams competed against Yorktown in a dual meet. The visiting Tigers captured the girls team win with a score of 96-26. The visiting Tiger Boys’ team won with a score of 81-33.
For the Blackhawks, three ladies won individual events: Sophia Smith won the discus, Isabelle Shadoan won the 300 m hurdles, and Ashlynn Keith won the 3200 m run. Sophia Smith also placed second in both the discus and the high jump and finished third in the long jump. Aleah Wright rounded out the scoring for the ladies with a second place finish in the 300 m hurdles and a third place finish in the 100 m hurdles.
On the guys side, Daniel Wright took first in the 800m run and second in the 1600m run while Seth Furniss won the 200m dash and finished in third place in the 100 m dash. Karson Miller took second place in both throwing events. Nate Kirby finished second in the 800m run and Cam Miller took second in the 100m dash. Nate, Cam, and Daniel teamed up with Perrin Belcher to win the 4 x 800 m relay. Addison Delk took third in the shot put, and Keagan Keesling took third in the long jump.
The Blackhawks will be competing again Friday at the Delaware County track meet at Delta.
