Coach Abbott Named Regional Coach of the Year

The awards are continuing to pile up for the 2020-2021 Blackhawk wrestling season with Coach Abbott being named IHSWCA Regional Coach of the Year. Coach Abbott will be recognized with a plaque at the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association spring clinic.

Blackhawk wrestlers best Richmond

The Varsity Blackhawk wrestlers made it happen tonight at home against the Red Devils of Richmond, finishing with a score of 74-4.

Varsity wrestlers victorious at Adams Central Invite

For the second year in a row the Varsity Blackhawk Wrestlers were victorious at the 10 team Adam Central Invitational. The Blackhawks used a complete team effort to finishe with a four point victory over second place Huntington North. Raef Keith, Preston White, Toby Abbott and Dalton May were individual champions.

Cricket Morey places fifth at state tournament

Cricket Morey competed in the Indiana High School Girl’s Wrestling State Tournament at Hamilton Heights tonight. She shook off a tough first round loss to claim fifth place, tech falling and pinning her way through the consolation bracket.  

Blackhawk wrestlers top Winchester

The Varsity Blackhawk wrestlers were victorious against the Falcons of Winchester. The Blackhawks put their hard work to the test and finished with a 65-18 victory. Individual winners were Raef Keith, Bowen Keith, Jayden Jett, Jesse May, Preston White, Toby Abbott, Keagan Keesling, Austin Jones, Dalton May, Brandt Thornburg, and Garrett Smith.

Cricket Morey places 3rd at IHSGW North Regional

Cricket Morey battled a tough bracket to finish in 3rd place at the IHSGW North Regional. Cricket’s 3rd place finish qualifies her for next Friday’s IHSGW State Finals at Hamilton Heights.

Blackhawk wrestlers come up short in semifinals

The Blackhawk wrestlers fought hard in the semifinals of the IHSWCA TEAM STATE TOURNAMENT losing to North Posey 38-25. The Blackhawks will face Prairie Heights for 3rd place.

Blackhawk wrestlers advance to semifinals

The Blackhawk wrestlers have advanced to the semifinals of the IHSWCA TEAM STATE. They finished on top of Adams Central, 51-23 in the quarterfinals. The Blackhawks will battle North Posey in the semis. #makeithappen

Blackhawk wrestler invited to North South All Star Dual

Cricket Morey was invited to represent the North in the IHSGW North South All Star Dual. The dual featured 19 matches comprised of the top female wrestling talent in the state. Cricket opened the dual with a 2:00 pin of 2020 state placer, Cora Cain of Hamilton Heights.
